There is a thriving small business sector with over 8,800 small to medium enterprises. 90.4% of companies in the borough employ less than 10 people.

The borough has a skilled workforce and low levels of unemployment with the local economy supporting some 76,100 local jobs, 67% of which are full time. Nearly 60% of jobs are in either professional or managerial/technical occupations.

Over 50% of residents are educated to level 4 or above which is well above the national average of 36%. The Borough is home to many excellent state schools including Windsor Girls School, Windsor Boys School, Desborough College, Furze Platt Senior School, Cox Green School, Newlands Girls School, Holyport College and Charters School. The Borough is also home to many prestigious independent schools such as St Georges School, Claires Court, Papplewick School, the Marist Schools and world renowned Eton College.

Eton College was founded by Henry VI in 1440. A total of 19 British Prime Ministers have attended Eton College. Former pupils are called Etonians. Real Etonians include actors Eddie Redmayne, Damian Lewis and Hugh Laurie. Fictional Etonians include James Bond, Lord Grantham of Downton Abbey and Jonathan Higgins from Magnum PI.
