West Street – JV

West Street is one of four key sites that the Council is seeking a joint venture partner to work with. More information on the joint venture can be found here.

The western gateway to the town will include 21,000 sqm of offices, residential and restaurants as well as a proposed bridge linking Kidwells Park to the town centre, improving accessibility as part of better links for pedestrians from the edge of town right through to the High Street.

The 120 bed Premier Inn has recently opened on West Street and the completed Pearce Building office, 50,000 sq ft of Grade A is now home to McAllister Olivarius and will soon be home to Blackberry . The Point, another 78,000 sq ft of Grade A space has been let to Maersk as its UK Headquarters and to international pharmaceutical company Seqirus.

A Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) for the West Street Opportunity Area has recently been prepared and consulted upon and is due to be adopted later in the year.
